I never planned to start a candy brand.. it kind of just happened.

Back in 2020, when the world had shut down, I was just a mum in my kitchen experimenting and trying to keep that creative spark alive. That’s when I discovered Japanese crystal candy. What immediately caught my attention was how beautiful it looked — these little sparkling pieces that almost looked like edible jewels. I just had to try making them for myself.

What started as a simple kitchen experiment slowly grew into something much bigger. Over time, more and more people discovered Bak’d and fell in love with crystal candy just like we had. Somewhere along the way, it stopped being just about candy and started becoming a community of people who share in the joy, the colour and the sparkle.

If you choose to purchase from Bak’d, please know that we are forever grateful. Never in my wildest dreams did I think a tiny kitchen project would grow into Australia’s biggest crystal candy brand — or more importantly, a beautiful community of people who have supported us from day one.
