The Sugar Rush Box is spectacular. You get that perfect crunch from the clusters and I also got the Passionfruit sour dip which smells just like passion fruit and tastes amazing with all the goodies. I recently discovered Bak'd Crystal Candy in Melbourne, and I can't rave about it enough! This place offers an incredible variety of flavours and textures to suit every sweet tooth. My absolute favourites are the clusters – they have the most amazing crunch factor that keeps me coming back for more. I also can’t get enough of the new Sour Brain Skulls. The cherry flavour is simply the best I’ve ever tasted! It’s a delightful mix of sweetness and tang that makes candy time so much fun. I never set out to start a candy brand.
Back in 2020, I was just a mum in my kitchen, experimenting with sugar, agar, and an idea:
“Maybe if I created something nobody else was making, it would stand out.”What started as a little creative escape quickly became an obsession. I became hooked on perfecting this unique Japanese crystal candy — sweets that looked like edible jewels, with their sparkling shells and soft, jelly-like centres.
Before I knew it, I wasn’t just making candy. I was building a community. Families, mums, kids, and even grandparents were falling in love with Bak’d. Not just because of how our candies look, but because of how they make you feel: nostalgic, delighted, a little bit sparkly inside.
People weren’t chasing another mass-produced sweet from the supermarket shelf. They wanted something special. Something handmade. Something that carried love, care, and joy in every piece.
That’s what Bak’d was built on: creating magical little moments for real people.
