What is Crystal Candy?
The sweet treat taking TikTok (and the world) by storm!
Crystal candy (Kohakutou) is a Japanese-inspired treat that looks like edible gemstones 💎 With a crunchy, glass-like shell and a soft jelly centre inside, every bite is a textural dream ✨
Handmade in Melbourne with love, our crystal candies are vegan, gluten-free, and crafted in small batches for that perfect sparkle and snap 🍬 Proudly pretty, totally unique, and seriously satisfying to crunch!

ABOUT US
Sarah launched Bak'd in 2018 while she was on maternity leave. Initially her focus was on celebration cakes, Sarah loved having a creative outlet and something that she could focus on while navigating motherhood.
Sarah discovered Crystal Candy in 2020 during lockdown. With no cakes to bake, Sarah needed to find something special and unique that she could channel her creative energy into. She whipped up a batch and patiently waited for a week for her crystals to dry so she could indulge in that amazing crunch! After that initial introduction to crystal candy, Sarah continued on with cakes until late 2022 when she noticed Crystal Candy was all over her social media pages. Knowing that no-one else in Australia was offering a similar product, Sarah sprung in to action launching her Etsy store in April 2023.
Soon after that, Mr Bak'd (Ben, Sarah's hubby) ended up joining Sarah after noticing that she couldn't keep up with the demand. Now Mr Bak'd is our chief ideas man, coming up with some amazing products like our Cotton Candy Bubblegum clusters.
Together they are a dream team working hard to build Bak'd in to Australia's biggest Crystal Candy store.
